Alternate Ending

It was The War of The Five Armies. On one side there were men, elves and dwarves. The other was goblins and wolves. During the war Bilbo did nothing to help his side. All he did was put on his invisibility ring and hide. Unfortunately the fight did not go as planned. The evil dragon Smaug sided with the goblins and wolves and won the battle. Except for Gandalf all of Bilbo’s companions had been killed. The only good that came from the war was that Smaug had also died. However this did not stop the goblins and wolves from taking over the mountain and stealing the treasure inside. Bilbo was forced to stay there until he was confronted with a familiar face. It was Gollum, the strange creature that he stole the ring from. When Gollum realized Bilbo had the ring he bit off Bilbo’s hand and took it. Bilbo was left stranded on the mountain.

Bilbo Baggins Character Profile

Bilbo Baggins isn’t much at the beginning of the story but as it progresses his confidence grows and by the end he is incredibly brave. Bilbo is a hobbit. A hobbit is about half the size of a regular person, just shorter than a dwarf. He is a little fat in the stomach and dresses in bright colors like green and yellow. Hobbits also wear no shoes, as their feet are larger and hairier than a gorilla. He comes from a very well respected and wealthy background. This was because none of the Bagginses ever had any adventures or did anything out of the ordinary. They were as bland as a white wall. Bilbo however was taken on an adventure. This forced him to take on challenging risks and more daring stunts. Bilbo is a very warm and welcoming character. He is always happy to invite people over and entertain them at his home. When Bilbo is faced with a difficult situation he steps up and is quick thinking. Bilbo is always trying to keep the peace and resolve conflict and he gains confidence along the journey. Bilbo’s main purpose in the story was to steal treasure from the evil dragon Smaug and he proves to be an excellent thief. Throughout the story Bilbo’s character grows, he becomes more adventurous and realizes there is a different life outside his community.

Bilbo Baggins Diary Entry

Dear diary,
today, after having thirteen unexpected guests over at my house I was taken on an adventure. I was only just starting to realize how far this journey would be, not to mention how much respect I would lose from my community, when we were faced with three nasty trolls. Their names were William, Bert and Bill. They were complete morons. They were also very hungry and thought the dwarves would be perfect for dinner. Thankfully they had no interest in eating me. Just as the first of the dwarves was about to be cooked, Gandalf made his move. Like me he had noticed that the trolls were not very smart. So when they were not looking he snuck into the bushes behind them. Then he started teasing them but did it in a way that made the trolls think it was them. Once they were confused and had started fighting with each other, I slipped on my invisibility ring and set the dwarves free. After that Gandalf turned the trolls into food and we had a lovely dinner. Although it was delicious it was not a good start to our quest.
